MY FATHER IS GONE
I am so gratful to have been sitting at his side holding his hand when he took his last breath. I truly believe he is in a better place.. a place with no pain... a place where he is reunited with all those he has loved and lost.
Elena..your beloved father is gone only physically.He will always be with you in your heart..you will carry him with you wherever you go and whatever you do...you will always be able to talk to him,and if you listen carefully,you will hear him talking to you. You will never forget his special smell,voice,smile,happiness and love..these are the gifts he bestowed on you so that he will always be with you. I know this because my father left me the same special gifts,as did my mother. As your grief subsides,as the pain ebbs,these gifts will make you smile again.I lost my father the day after Christmas 2004..but he and my Mom are with me in my heart and I am not as lonely for them. I am so very sorry and I CARE !!! Your father was a lucky man to have a daughter who loved him as you did...you gave him the ultimate gift.
Dearest Elena....I read your posts regarding your Dad's passing and wept. Never have I read such an eloquent and real description of the agony suffered by the long painful road some of the ones we love the most must take to be free of their pain. With your honesty and directness, you have made such a wonderful testament to your darling Dad, showing the strength you learned from him.
The first poster here is correct. I often hear my beloved Granny's voice warning me of danger, or of comfort when I was very low. Truly, I have even felt her hand on my shoulder pulling me back.
His spirit lives on in your heart. He is now in a place of no pain, no tears.
My heart and prayers go out to your family in this time of loss. Be still and listen...and follow your heart.
May the Lord bless and keep you; May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace (Num 6:24)
