I have a very special friend out there, who we will call Marcos.  Ever since I met him I felt so much love for him.  We don't see each other very often at all but we stay in touch and when I did see him recently on a cruise I felt that "I knew you in another life" kind of feeling.  Know what I mean?  A brother?  A best friend?

Anyway, I got a package from him today with lots of "goodies" that he knows I love.  No reason - just because.  It meant so much.

So few people do things "just because" any more.  Not because they don't want to but simply because life gets so crazy...

Marcos' life is unbelievably hectic also - he runs around from country to country, from state to state... yet he still took the time to in his own way say "I know your hurting and I'm here".

Just Because.

Thank you honey - you know who you are.  And for the rest of us - do something nice for someone - just because.

  1. Elena
this is a beautiful story about your friend. so few people follow up on their first urge of I should do something just because and I think your friend is wonderful.

  2. AMEN, Elena. There is no greater act than one merely generated from the love in our hearts for another human being. That sounds like what this was and the nice thing is it conveyed that love just as it was intended and felt from his end and only those unselfish acts are the ones that send that loving message so clearly. What a wonderful person Marco is! A true friend indeed.
PS: I love you, too! If I were writing about a special friend who was there in my time of needing love from the heart, my story would be similar, but the character's name would have been ELENA! Love you, sweetie and thank you for all you have done for me and how you have supported me in my hard times as well!
