PLAYING WITH SUZI BLU FACES
I love Suzi Blu's Class a Goddess and a Poet. This is Suzi's "face" or the way she teaches them. Monica Zuniga is more a "reality" artist I think. Suzi is more stylized. I have to say I like her faces more than any others I have seen. If you get the chance take her class... It's totally worth it.
I am determined to make faces so i am trying to do at least one face a day. Practice is the important thing I guess so here goes! I think I should have placed the eyes a little closer together. It's only a pencil sketch. I will cut out this face and put in my journal with gel medium. Once it is try I am instructed to cover it with clear gesso. No idea what comes next but I will let you know!
I may end up doing the face again. Not happy with the separation between the eyes. Yeah... need a new face.

I think this is good Elena ,these are hard to do and with practice you can only get better!

Hello Elena,
ReplyDeletecoincidence ? I followed Suzi's online class too and one of the results is in my Marie Antoinette book...
One face a day !?! I wish I had the time...But you're right : practice is the only thing that helps you evolve.
I wouldn't redo the face you did . The space between her eyes is indeed a bit too big, but it still looks good. Just put it in your journal to practice on your shading and draw another face and another and another,...
I read also about your artroom : I can see that you already have a lot of stuff ! You're right to change the room completely to your taste and needs.
i had to laugh when I read about your cats ( I assume they are cats...) .
I have 6 cats in the house and they DO ruin some things sometimes. It also hard to work when they are lying on my limited workspace and I don't have the guts to remove them. I just try to work in the tiny place that's left...LOL
Past night my husband ( who's always coming to bed very late) almost couldn't get in the bed, cause of all the cats lying in our bed...
But they are so sweet...
greetings from Belgium
Inge
I agree with you. Suzi's is the best I have taken and she makes it so easy to draw a face...
ReplyDeleteYours is great as all your work is.
One of these days I am going to take her class. Everyone does such nice work from it.
ReplyDeleteHow is your son by the way? The one you worried about doing drugs (after your dad died). I hope he is okay.
